All about love - bell hooks

Personal note from a fellow survivor:

I have read this book twice and am recommending it to all my friends. It is not geared towards survivors, rather examines our culture around love, sex and relationships, with a focus on the US. Bell hooks is an acclaimed feminist and anti-racist academic and writer and all of her books have transformed my thinking. This book opened my eyes to the ways in which patriarchy shapes the way we relate to one another romantically, in non-romantic settings and sexually. It helped me articulate what is important to me in a relationship, what commitment, respect and communication look like to me, amongst other things.
